Facilities
& Amenities
Swimming Pool & Pool House
The large outdoor solar heated swimming pool is available for use on
weekdays from late June, July, August and early September, exact opening and closing date weather dependent. The pool house is a
wonderful place to spend time. With views out over the countryside
towards St Erth village, tables and chairs,
and a toilet and shower, you have everything you need for
a relaxing afternoon. Coffee, tea and soft drinks are available daily in the pool house (honesty system).
Indeed, many of our guests often choose to spend a whole hot sunny day reclining on our loungers
beside the pool.
Garden
Next to the swimming pool a large, level area of garden for
our guests to use. Formerly a grass badminton court it is
ideally suited to garden games or simply soaking up the sun. Games room
All our guests are welcome to use the games room – one
of the restored barns that contains a table tennis table and
a fun-size snooker table, perfect distraction and relaxation.
Barbecues
Barbecue equipment is available for you to borrow. All our cottages have
their own area with outdoor tables and chairs to enjoy that late
evening barbecue and glass of wine as the sun sets.
Beaches
There are at least 10 sandy beaches within a few
minutes of Trewinnard.
Electric Car Charging
We intend to install an electric car charging point for Summer 2022.
Please contact us to confirm.
Food
There is good pub food in several locations nearby and there are many other good restaurants in Penzance and St Ives. For a special treat with a reservation Tel 01736 753289, take the delightful scenic railways from St Erth to eat on the beach in St Ives at the Porthminster Café.
Fishing
There is plenty of sea fishing and sea trout fishing in the
River Lynher can be available
but it is 1.5 hours drive away in mid cornwall.
Surfing
Only miles away are the very best surfing beaches in the UK. Sennen Cove is about 30 minutes away. Even nearer are the renowned surfing beaches of Gwithian, Porthmeor and Praa Sands. Vistit www.magicseaweed.com to see the fantastic surfing opportunites that abound in the area. For beginners, there are excellent surfing schools located nearby at Marazion, Gwithian and St Ives.
Walking
West Cornwall is nothing short of paradise for walkers and hikers. Few walks in the country can be more more stunning than the National Trust protected costal pathway that runs all the way along the Cornish coast. Towering cliffs, hidden coves, secret beaches and wild moorland are located only minutes from Trewinnard Holiday Cottages. Zennor on the North coast is about 20 minutes away; Prussia Cove and Perranuthnoe on the South Coast even less. These walks are especially enjoyable in the Spring and Autumn when the cottages are all available at low season rates. Not to be forgotten either is that the boundary of Trewinnard runs along the River Hayle which is a County wildlife site of great interest.
